DEL MAR HAS ‘SWAN SONG’ TODAY
Today marks the final program of the 2010 Del Mar summer season. Get your final licks in with XpressBet online, by phone or via selected mobile devices. Today’s feature is the $250,000 Grade I Del Mar Futurity at seven furlongs. The event is the eighth on a 10-race, closing-day card and tops an otherwise subdued national Wednesday menu. Post time for the feature is 8:30 pm ET and the field is large with 11 slated to start. J P’s Gusto is the 5-2 favorite for trainer /b> Dave Hofmans and jockey Pat Valenzuela. Wouldn’t it be interesting for P. Val critics and supporters alike to watch the beleaguered jockey posing for a snapshot in the winner’s circle of the meet’s most important 2-year-old event? Check it out, today on XpressBet.
JANNIS WINS $5K IN DIME-A-DAY!
XpressBet account holder Paul Jannis, who scored with a $90 winner on July 31, parlayed that success into some consistent play to win the $5,000 top prize in Dime-A-Day Saratoga. Jannis won just two cash prizes during the season--$333.33 July 31 and $200 on September 5—which accounted for merely $577 of his meet best $956 in mutuel payoffs. Mark Streiff rallied to take the lead in the final days, but couldn’t hold off a late charge from Jannis. He finished second with $893 in total mutuel payoffs.
Richard Murray ($1,514) holds a commanding lead over Clem Sequeira ($1,095) in Dime-A-Day Del Mar which concludes Wednesday, closing day of that meeting. Murray looks to be home free, but, as Yogi Berra once said, “It ain’t over until it’s over.” The stars would need to align perfectly to produce a monster longshot for anyone other than Murray to claim the $5,000 first-place prize.
VISA CARDS BLOCKED
Several prominent U.S. financial institutions no longer permit VISA credit card deposits to legal, licensed online wagering sites. This new policy has affected the entire online wagering industry, including XpressBet. As a result, XpressBet account holders will be unable to make deposits to their wagering accounts using VISA credit cards. While XpressBet and other industry organizations will continue to work diligently to rectify this situation, we suggest using an alternate deposit method such as XpressFund.
XpressFund is the fastest, easiest and cheapest way to deposit money to your XpressBet wagering account. XpressFund deposits are transferred directly from your bank account to your XpressBet wagering account without any fees.
There are certain deposit amount limits on new XpressFund accounts so we'd like to remind you that XpressBet has several other deposit options Money Order, Wire Transfer, Personal Check, Certified Check or In Person at certain tracks and OTBs. Illinois residents who are XpressBet account holders are back in the saddle with all tracks on the wagering menu. A state regulation which previously had restricted Illinois residents from wagering on certain tracks has been revised and the entire XpressBet wagering menu is now available.
Illinois residents are urged to sign up for XpressFund—the fastest, easiest and cheapest way to fund your wagering account. Deposits and Withdrawals move seamlessly between XpressBet and your specified bank account without fees. Click Here to access the required XpressFund form.
